Sebastian is the Managing Partner at COLBS Estudio Legal. From his position he leads the Real Estate, Corporate, and Compliance practices. He is also well versed in Intellectual Property matters.

Sebastian advises local and international private and institutional investors, development and construction companies, private wealth funds, and serves as local liaison for international law firms with clients with interests in Costa Rica. Within his real estate practice, he has developed a unique skill in build-to-suit and flex office spaces transactions, long term leases, recording and managing residential and touristic developments, plus specialized practice in estate planning.

Sebastian and his firm set themselves apart by offering “red carpet” personalized treatment to clients, in which a partner always leads transactions. This non-negotiable trait is embedded in the firm’s culture.

Sebastian has served as Director at the Costa Rican British Chamber of Commerce (Britcham), Committee Member of the LSE Alumni Association in Costa Rica, President of the Chevening Scholarships Alumni Association, Chair of the Costa Rica Chapter for the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and in 2021 was appointed Honorary Personal Advisor to His Majesty's Ambassador in Costa Rica.

His academic credentials include a Business Undergrad Degree at ULACIT, Juris Doctor Degree from University of Costa Rica, a Tax Specialization from Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, and an LL.M. in Corporate Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Sebastian has a passion for antiques and is also an accomplished tennis player, who has represented Costa Rica in ITF tournaments for the category of players over +35 and +40 years old. He has 2 sons and is married to a highly successful IP attorney.
